The recent educational visit undertaken by a group of our college students to the New Delhi Parliamentary Complex was organized with the primary objective of enhancing students’ understanding of the Indian parliamentary system, the political process, and the historical significance of the complex, while also promoting awareness of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The visit took place on 26th October, with a total of 19 students accompanied by 3 staff members, representing diverse academic disciplines that provided a broader perspective on parliamentary functioning. The program began with an orientation session conducted by a parliamentary guide, who explained the history, architecture, and importance of the complex, along with an overview of India’s parliamentary system. Students were then given the opportunity to visit the chambers of both houses of Parliament, the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha, where they observed the seating arrangements and gained firsthand insight into how parliamentary proceedings are conducted.
